As our Florida trip comes to a close, we're starting to think about all of the fun projects that await us back home! One month on the beach and I have had way too much time to scroll Pinterest and come up with project ideas. I am itching to get started! We have so many empty spaces and bland white walls to tend to. Here is a list of some things we would like to tackle soon! 1. Brooks's RoomWe did not set up a nursery in the Holland cottage because of the impending move. We are so excited to have a room for him in this new house! Currently, it's pretty sparse. I did just order the most comfortable glider which is helping me come up with a vision for the room! I want it to be fun and boyish, yet timeless. Perhaps plaid wallpaper or dark blue beadboard? 2. Powder Bath WallsThe powder bath is another room that needs some color! I'm thinking of going with a dark green that matches the exterior siding of the house. There is a view into the powder from the front entry. I think it will be fun to being the outdoors in! 3. Front EntryYou might remember that this entry got shrunk during construction. The concrete foundation was poured 2' too small, leaving this space tighter than we originally designed. I need to find a way to decorate this space well. I'm not sure what it's missing...Paint? Wallpaper? Gallery wall? 4. LandscapingThis will be our biggest project come Spring. We have a dirt yard in need of irrigation, lawn, and landscaping! We'll design a fire pit area for the backyard, hang some string lights, and possibly pour a little basketball court for Brooks (and let's be honest, Ty!) 5. Primary Bedroom Art and DecorI have purchased art for above the bed but simply have not gotten around to hanging it! I also have new throw pillows and accessories for this room. The biggest project in here will be the dresser. I am attempting an "IKEA hack." Stay tuned! 6. Office Desk and Window TreatmentsWindow treatments are in order for the whole house. They'll make a huge difference in this airy white room. I'm not sure what kind of treatments I'll be installing, likely woven shades or velvet curtains (totally different, I know!). I'm also having Ty's uncle build us a desk! 7. Design Dining TableIn addition to the desk, I'm working on a design for a custom dining table. I love the thrifted table we have but it's too small for the space. I'm thinking of designing something similar but larger. 8. Hide TV Cords in the Living RoomUgh, I want to tackle this ASAP! These cords drive me nuts! Because we have a Frame TV, we have to find a solution for the TV box that is comes with. This will include cutting into the drywall behind the TV and building some type of shelf behind it. 9. Guest Room Walls, Nighstands, and AccessoriesWe have put together a bed with some pretty new pillows and artwork, but this room is still missing nightstands, lamps, and possibly breadboard or paint. 10. Finish the Basement! This one is a little bit of a TBD, but we have been flirting with finishing the basement this summer. We would finish the family room and bedroom and leave the bathroom for a future project. We know this is something we will do before selling as it will increase the value of our home more than the cost to do it, so we figure we might as well do it soon so we can enjoy it ourselves! (To clarify, not thinking of selling soon!) We would drywall the family room and bedroom, put carpet down, and paint the walls a dark, fun color! Stick around to see all of these projects come to life.
