We've always appreciated the lakeside city of Holland. When we lived in GR, we often made the trek out just to catch the sunset; or to eat at one of the amazing eateries. It's a small town, but is progressive and has amenities. It's in many ways the best of both worlds. Now, as many of you are aware, we've moved to the Holland lakeshore and are pumped to share more about our favorite Michigan coastal town.
Holland is a community that sits about 30 minutes from Grand Rapids on Lake Michigan. The sprawling downtown is as charming as they come, and the city invests in maintaining the character and flavor that the city possesses. Known for its May tulips, people worldwide flock to Holland to experience Tulip Time, which is as beautiful and pervasive as you could possibly imagine. Many cottages and second homes dot the shorelines of Lake Michigan as well as Lake Mac. Lake Michigan (for our non-Michigan readers) is not any old local lake! It's much more reminiscent of an ocean, and is enormous in stature! In fact, it is the 5th largest lake in the world!
