Our bedroom is finally coming together. Our bedroom always seems to be the last priority with each renovation. For months, we lived with nothing but the basics in this space - bed, curtains, nightstands. No decor, no personality. After a few months of reprieve from all things “home improvement” (we renovated our entire home in 100 days, and needed a break!), we decided to tackle this room. The design scheme was inspired by this rug. Next, we bought this bed. We opted for beige (beige is making a comeback!) to compliment the warm tones in the rug. This bed was a STEAL for the price! We selected artwork to bring the space together. Because we have a king bed, we needed something large to scale the width of the wall. Large art can be pricey. I didn't want to spend a lot on this room, so I searched the web for something affordable, and found this site. Parabo Press prints large images, and offers coordinating wood hanging rails. We decided to order their 36” by 48” print and the maple rails. I selected an image that I took at Rosemary Beach, our favorite place (see this travel guide!). I love artwork that is personal; especially when it is reminiscent of our travels. Beyond showing off my favorite place, this picture exhibits the PERFECT colors for the room (peach, beige, brown). Yes, our nightstands really are that empty all the time! Still practicing minimalism, and truly loving it. Same goes for pillows - while I'd love an array of beautiful textures and colors, I know that I would not love dealing with 47 different throw pillows each morning! One lumbar is enough for me! Click the images below for links to each item (dresser and nightstand linked are "similar" options). Thanks for following along!
