I have posted almost ZERO photos of my house since I started the giant project a few months ago. I was going to wait until it was completely finished until I posted the before and afters....but where's the fun in that? I have decided to post a few "in process" photos today to prove to you readers that this house does indeed exist and it is getting done, slowly but surely.
These photos are actually a bit dated. The house is much farther than these pictures suggest, I've got furniture and everything! So close!
Anyway, here is the "before" kitchen.
Wallpaper and carpet- nice, right?!
The wallpaper came off SO easy! It was the 9 hours of scrubbing glue residue that was frustrating. I also had to hire a repairman for the several damaged areas on the walls...Wallpaper is no fun.
I wanted to brighten up the kitchen with open shelves instead of upper cabinets.I decided to tile all the way to the ceiling behind the shelves. I love the look of no upper cabinets- opened up the space beautifully!
Had to replace the carpet of course! I LOVE my new floor. This is LVP - Luxury vinyl plank (Shaw - Urbanality - Broadway). We installed it using a Herringbone pattern. I didn't want to do straight set install because I was nervous that the style would compete with my neighboring hardwood floors. I love the way it turned out! Adds some interest to the space too.
More wallpaper and some beautiful blue carpet.
I was pretty excited to find hardwood underneath! All it needed was some sanding, staining, and a bit of varnish.
And last but not least - the spare bedroom which is now an obnoxious, oversized closet.
I hope you enjoyed this little sneak peak! Can't wait to share more!
Have a beautiful day,
Hannah & Tyler
