HEY Y'ALL! We are so excited that you are reading Hannah Tyler Design's first official Sunday post! We have been preparing to launch for months and are elated to finally unleash all of our pent up words, thoughts, and creativity. Hannah Tyler Designs was once Hannah's interior design blog called "Quite Quaint." Ty and Hannah decided to launch this Design / Travel blog to encompass their two passions. Stick around to find guides to their favorite cities along with design tips, home tours, and home improvement projects (more on the About Page). Ty is an ESL teacher in Grand Rapids, MI. He has an undeniable passion for teaching, reading, writing, travel, and college football. Hannah quickly fell in love with Ty's constant gravitation toward travel, adventure, and spontaneity. Ty is always planning road trips, booking flights, and researching new cities. It's not rare for Ty to spend at least one weekend a month out of state. Some say he is crazy, his wife says he has a diagnosable addiction to the unpredictable. She also says he's crazy. Ty grew up in the snowy state of Michigan. College, jobs, and a fiancé are to blame for constant change as Ty moved among four states over the last few years ( FL, GA, SC, and MI). All of this travel, change, and a plethora of new experiences further imbedded Ty's passion for adventure. In their first five months of marriage, Ty and Hannah traveled to Northern California, Dallas, Nashville (3 times...), Atlanta, and Traverse City (with Denver on the books!). OHH, and they have normal lives with normal jobs too. They are excited to share how they do this on a BUDGET (Yay college debt!) and with full time careers (a lot of short weekend trips and red eye flights). Hannah's journey began her freshman year of college. While studyingl Business, Hannah's parents helped her flip a foreclosed home to make some money and have a place to rent that was less expensive than student housing. She quickly realized that she had a natural love (okay, obsession) for interior design. After one year of studies, Hannah's parents encouraged her to take a year off of school to make sure that she was pursuing the correct path. She continued to flip two foreclosures, worked for three home design retailers, one new home construction company, and two textile vendors. Many jobs and four states later (yeah, imagine trying to file those tax returns!), she landed back home in Grand Rapids, MI. Hannah works as a traveling sales rep for a textiles company, Shaw Industries. She travels among Greater Grand Rapids, Traverse City, and Petoskey, MI. She adores her job. Road trips + home textiles = dream. Ty and Hannah will collectively run this blog. Ty will cover the travel segments, and Hannah will cover the design portions.
OKAY, typically we won't make you read so much! Promise. Look for a new post coming you way every Sunday. Come back soon, our full home tour will be up in ONE WEEK! Much love, Han and Ty
