The EGR flip is coming along wonderfully! Maybe it's because we aren't living in this one, but it feels like it's been our quickest renovation yet...(though it's mathematically not)! The cabinets have been installed and they are BEAUTIFUL! The hood is framed, and all of the new windows have also been put in. Next up on our docket is flooring, counters, and backsplash. We are planning to have those installed this week! I shared a few sneak peeks of the kitchen last week; it's about time I share the vision! We are going more traditional than we typically do to match the original era of the home. Elements like brass and soapstone will feel classic and cozy.
We have made some slight changes to the original layout. The biggest change is the wall between the kitchen and the dining room. Rather than open the entire wall, we decided to cut out a large window between the two rooms. There will be a quartz overhang from the kitchen into the dining room with room for stools.
We bought cabinets locally through Williams Distributing in Grand Rapids. These are the color "Stone" which is a soft gray-beige. I am most excited about the quartz counters, which are called Charcoal Soapstone Suede. To add interest and texture, we decided to install shiplap around the range hood. A floating wood shelf will be hung above the sink, next to ceiling height cabinetry. The original kitchen had a wall mounted sink faucet, so we are keeping that feature while upgradingthe faucet itself. A vintage rug, brass hardware, art, and accessories will add even more warmth and character to the space. ![]() Can't wait to see this whole space come to life. We will continue to share updates on IG! Thanks for following along! -HJJ
