Finally, my first DIY blog post. My goal is to post one once a week but this house has been hogging all my project time! Once it's finished I will be on a consistent blogging schedule.
GOLD SPRAY PAINT has changed my life.
This week my project has been tackling my "dressing room" (which is just another name for the spare bedroom I turned into a giant closet. Before you judge, I had no use for the room anyways. I would use it as an office/craft room but I'm planning on using the basement for those purposes because I want to have all my crafts and business in one pace including a space to paint furniture, have my shop, etc. At least that's what I've been telling myself to justify my overly obnoxious "closet"....)
Anyway, I needed some more storage. Last night at about 2:00am I stumbled across this old shower organizer. Then I spotted the gold spray paint I bought like a year ago for no reason...I knew I'd use it one day.
(If you don't happen to stumble across one in the trash or are a little more sanitary than me to pick one up, you can find one at almost any dollar store for, well, $1!)
The next morning I was so excited about the first project that I searched a few thrift stores to look for more stuff to spray paint. I found this little basket for $1. I went to the cashier to pay for it and the little old lady gave it to me for free and then winked at me. I insisted on paying but she said if I promise to keep shopping there I didn't need to pay for it. It was really random but alright! So nice! Not sure if I should use it to hold purses or scarves...what do you think? (Also, all the scarves in the bottom right photo were thrift finds!). I've also toyed with the idea of hanging the basket on the wall.
LOVE this stuff. The best part about it is that it makes anything look metal- plastic, wood, rubber, etc. I got it at Meijer for like $4....an impulse buy for sure. SO FAB!
A little SNEAK PEAK at what I've been up to all week! Dressing room- almost done! Room redo coming soon!
Have a beautiful day,
