Of all the bathrooms that we have renovated, this one was in the best condition to begin with. While I did not love the finishes, it was actually in pretty good shape. Really, compared to other other projects, this room felt like a palace! (Who remembers the EGR bathroom that had leopard wallpaper with pink stripes?) Regardless, this room was still a ton of work. We removed and replaced every inch of this space. Here is the original mood board that I created for the space. We stuck pretty true to this initial plan (See this blog post for more about this design). We did swap this beautiful brass mirror for black (I decided to incorporate black to add dimension) and went with a solid white counter instead of the marble visual...we wanted to maximize drawer storage, and using IKEA's prefab white sink allowed us to do that (when you use your own sink with IKEA's floating vanities, you have to cut the top drawer to make room for the plumbing...read this post all about it). We hired Dehaan Tile and Flooring Covering to demo the existing tile and install the new tile. They did an EXCELLENT job! They also installed our new flooring. This floor is an LVT by Shaw Floors. It is a rigid core vinyl (meaning it is more dense than traditional vinyl, and 100% waterproof) with an attached antimicrobial pad underneath. The attached pad allows it to be installed directly over top of existing tile without any telegraphing (which is when the texture beneath shows through). Being able to go over top of the existing ceramic saved us significant time and money! Below are all of the sources (some of these links are similar items to what is pictured): The shower tile is my FAVORITE element in this space. It adds dimension and texture. We decided to install the tile in a straight stack pattern. Because the rest of bathroom is rather modern, we wanted to downplay the traditional texture of the tile in order to blend with the rest of the room. The straight stack pattern was the perfect balance! We used the GODMORGON vanity before in this bathroom. We loved it so much that we decided to use it again! The giant drawers provide tons of storage, which is especially important in a place like ours! We are excited to share the rest of the condo reveal very soon!
