COLUMBUS, OH // TRAVEL GUIDE

Those who know me, know it's uncommon for me to change my mind once it's made up...however, that's exactly what happened when it comes to Columbus, OH. We visited one time around 3 years ago, and  I thought it felt like Grand Rapids (so I definitely liked it) but didn't really think it warranted a 5-6 hour road trip to experience something so similar to what was in my own backyard. Well, let me assure you, thanks to some high-quality recommendations, my perspective has changed. GO SEE COLUMBUS!

WHERE TO EAT/COFFEE

FOX IN THE SNOW CAFE

I can't say enough good things about this place. They had NOLA cold brew, which is made with chicory, (think cold cafe au last) and it was OUT OF THIS WORLD. They had an incredible amount of breakfast items, pastries, baked goods... it was overwhelming to the senses. A must when in the 'Bus.

MISSION COFFEE

Mission is in my favorite area of Columbus, Short North. Short North has shops, eateries, coffee shops and walkability. It also has some large parks that are nearby as well. Complete with public transit, you can easily bop around Short North and achieve everything you'd desire in Columbus. We spent most of our day in this area of town.

Stauf's Coffee

Yes, you read that correctly.. we went to 3 coffee shops... in one day. Hannah was really needing the buzz as we were in Columbus to purchase some furniture from the West Elm Outlet. Stauf's is in the German Village, which is laden with brick facades, and cobbled pathways.

NorthStar

A fast-casual eatery in Short North with tons of options for the health conscious. Our friend Molly says North Star has the best vegan burger in America...and once drove 5 hours for it. That should be a testament unto itself!

WHAT TO DO

WALK GERMAN VILLAGE

Stauf's (Featured above) is in the heart of this incredibly charming community. Even if you head over this way for an hour or two, it's worth seeing. It's well-kept, has some shops and work spaces, and has a very well known book outlet that claims to be one of the largest in the world!

I am certain there's probably a myriad of other things to do in Columbus that are worth checking out. I'm so certain--we are going to head back sometime this fall and give Columbus more than just one short day of our time.

Thanks so much for adventuring onward with us!
