Friday Faves 3/24/23

It's been a while since we've done a Friday Faves! Here are a few things I've been loving lately, from a new rug, to my favorite morning drink, to an email subscription I enjoy, to homemade bread!

While we LOVED how soft our previous living room rug was, we recently replaced it with this one and I adore it. It brings some deeper colors into the living room which had been feeling like a sea of beige. I added a thick pad underneath to make it extra soft for our nearly walking toddler!

I've been making a cafe Miel in the mornings...I shared my method in a reel here! It's a tasty drink with espresso, cinnamon, raw organic honey (great for immunity!) and milk (I found a great brand of grass-fed pasture raised whole milk locally at Fresh Thyme. The brand is Zeal Creamery!)

To get through the long winter season, Ty and I started watching old seasons of the Bachelor. It's giving us something to look forward to in the evenings! We watched Ben Faljnik's and Jake Pavelka's seasons. I couldn't believe the endings of either! We actually prefer the older seasons. The interactions feel less staged and the fashion is hilarious!

I am very proud to say that I am officially a regular bread-maker! Mastering homemade bread was one of my goals for 2023 (yes, bread made the resolutions!). I  found this super easy recipe...only 4 ingredients and very little rise time! I have it committed to memory and make it 2-3 times per week. I also bought some sourdough starter. Eventually, I will give that a try, too!

I seriously cannot pick out one more winter outfit. I am beyond ready for Spring! I bought this dress in two colors. At $39, I couldn't help myself. Now, if only the blizzards will stop coming so that I could actually wear them.

Speaking of, did you know you can shop my closet here??

Our new house is in a quiet setting, farther from "town" than other places that we lived. We love the beautiful surroundings, pretty drive, and lack of traffic and busyness. I would refer to where we live as the "country," but it's right along the Michigan lakeshore so it doesn't feel very "country," though, if you drive inland, you'll find blueberry farms and a sheep pasture! The biggest negative, however, is that there are no "good" grocery stores nearby (Whole Foods and Trader Joe's, my long lost loves). Consequently, I signed up for Thrive market a few months and am wondering why I didn't sign up sooner! For $5/month, you can place an unlimited amount of grocery orders to be delivered directly to your door. They have all the good brands and the best prices. I place 1-2 orders per week. I am a super fan. Use this link for 40% off your first grocery order!

I just read this book about cooking and it changed my life. I am cooking nearly every day and have gotten so much better by following the principles outlined in this book! Ty will attest!

Lastly, I am an avid unsubscriber of emails. I like a clean email inbox and am rather selective of the email lists with which I participate. One email that I enjoy getting is this daily. The emails contain real estate listings currently on the market (all over the country) that would make great airbnbs. It's great entertainment! I loved viewing this cabin in MN with an incredible view. This chalet in TN is dreamy! And this AZ home is making me want to move West.
